One of the daily routines that I have been doing every morning using my phone is to check the latest news using an application of a Philippine-based news agency. However, there are also times that I would usually kill boredom by reading feature, business, tech or entertainment news using my laptop. And so, when I learned about an application that will give me an experience of reading a ‘real’ newspaper (hmmmm…..minus the paper), I immediately grabbed the opportunity to experience it.

Hog's Breath Cafe, an Australian-based steakhouse, opened late last year (2012) their first branch in the Philippines. Davao's Pasko Fiesta

The City Government of Davao is continuously looking for something to offer to the public especially during the holiday season, and that is, the Pasko Fiesta sa Davao. Annually every December, there are activities organized to feel even more the spirit of Christmas in a festive way, such as the light show, lights parade, caroling competition among others. 

Island Hopping - Samal, Davao

December! Almost everyone is busy this holiday season, and so am I (Hahaha). It's been a while since my last post here, thus I thought of sharing some of my experiences this holiday season. Last week, I was invited to join the Christmas party of my previous employer. For this year, they decided to divert most of the funds for the victims of typhoon Pablo, and just organized island hopping for their party.

It has been known that Davao has so many experiences to offer, from highlands to islands, and one experience you might explore is to enjoy the beaches of Samal. You can visit the Sta. Ana Wharf few days (or weeks, during peak season: summer and December) before the scheduled activity to book and arrange the itinerary for the whole day island hopping. You need also to indicate the number of people, as rates may vary according to the capacity of the boat you will use. For our island hopping, the company paid Php 7,000 for the whole day activity, inclusive of the boat usage with a capacity of 40 people.

Chinese Garden Singapore: The Nature+Culture Experience

Commonly, great skyscrapers, shopping, Sentosa, are just some of the first few things that would pop-up to someone's mind if we talk about Singapore. Well, this city-state can offer also an experience with nature+culture, and that is, a visit to the Chinese Garden and the adjacent Japanese Garden in Jurong East.

Take the East West railway line (green line) towards Joo Koon and alight at the Chinese Garden Station. The garden is just about 4 minutes walk from the station. Entrance to the garden is free. If you love photography, visit there when the sky is blue to produce great shots. When we visited the place, it was a bit gloomy, but we still manage to take some nice photos.
